Darcia Narvaez

Darcia Narvaez is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Collaborative for Ethical Education at the University of Notre Dame. Her research explores questions of moral cognition, moral development and moral character education. She has developed several integrative theories: Adaptive Ethical Expertise, Integrative Ethical Education, Triune Ethics Theory. She has written dozens of research articles and chapters. She spoke at the Whitehouse’s conference on Character and Community. She is author or editor of three award winning books: Postconventional Moral ThinkingMoral DevelopmentSelf and Identity; and the Handbook of Moral and Character Education. She is editor of the Journal of Moral Education. Her most current book is Neurobiology and Human Morality: Evolution, Culture, and Wisdom.
