My children have taught me to rethink everything.  As a first time mother emerging from a university setting, with every intention of returning quickly to work, I made a heart-based decision to give up everything I thought I knew about children, parenting and education and devote myself to creating a rich environment to support my child's, and later children's, freedom to be.  Everything I know now about how to live and be in the world I have learned by watching my children take on their worlds.  The 30 years that have passed since that momentous decision have been nothing short of remarkable and profoundly joyous.
