Amy’s professional roots took hold at the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development at Tufts University, where she contributed to and directed large-scale projects on the topics of positive youth development, and moral and spiritual development. At the Brazelton Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, she focused her lifespan lens on infant development and the transition to parenthood, coordinating evaluation research within early intervention settings. At the Feinstein International Center, she examined the role of spiritual development in humanitarian aid, further deepening her commitment to the application of developmental science for global flourishing. Her hands-on expertise in translating research into practice was honed through her work as a doula supporting diverse families through the perinatal period and beyond.
Today, Amy is a Senior Child Development Researcher at Fluent Research and co-founder of Home Base Learning Center, alongside her husband, Dan Warren. Home Base is a nature-based elementary school guided by the core values of Positive Youth Development, Social Justice, and Earth Stewardship.
