Marion Badenoch Rose

I’m fascinated with pregnancy, birth, and parenting, and have an extensive background in infant and child development spanning more than 20 years. My past experiences include a Ph.D on the mother-infant relationship from Cambridge University, a research fellowship in infant cognition, a six-year training in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, and a practice in HypnoBirthing, and then in calmbirth.

Whilst first pregnant nine years ago, I extensively researched parenting models, and came across Aware Parenting. A combination of sound research and emotional intelligence, it was congruent with all I had learnt as a psychotherapist and researcher. I started practicing Aware Parenting with my daughter, and learnt first-hand the relationship between attachment, crying, feeding, sleeping, and presence. Passionate about the power and beauty of Aware Parenting, I invited Aletha Solter to come to Australia, which she did in 2005. Soon after that, I became certified as an Aware Parenting Instructor.

My children are now eight and three years old. I love to share my knowledge, experiences, and insights with other interested parents so that they have the freedom to be the parents they want to be, with a deep and joyful connection with their children. I offer this through talks, consultations via phone, email and Skype, a yahoo group, and articles on my website at www.parentingwithpresence.net.

I’m fascinated in the complex and subtle relationship between parents and children – especially the impact of parents’ presence and beliefs on their babies and children. I have also been inspired by Field training for several years (www.fieldcenter.org), and am a Field Center Certified Facilitator. I live with my husband, daughter, and son in Northern N.S.W., where I am inspired to live life with increasing joy, love, and fulfillment. I will be answering two questions per month here at Kindred.
